Mission Statement:
My life is centered on exploring and understanding the philosophy of love, sexuality and eroticism and its influences on society, consciousness, freedom and ethics – or perhaps, the reverse.
My artistry is an attempt to positively contribute to the evolution of the modern woman and her erotic nature. Sensuality and eroticism are empowering. Feminism needs a good dash of those.
Biographical introduction:
For the last seven years, my husband Michael, our three children and I have resided abroad in Germany. They were the best years of my life. I’ve ended up in Savannah by what seems like fate though I have yet to see why. Hindsight is always an interesting perspective. Too bad its value comes in the future.
I had visited Savannah once. I walked downtown and said, “I’d love to live here”. Ten years later, by sheer mystery, I’ve arrived.
I have 20 years of photographic experience. I’ve worked with fashion models in South Beach, porn models and Playboy divas in Europe, and large, small, old, young, ugly, pretty and in-between “real” people everywhere else, professional to novice, erotic work to family portraiture. My photography isn’t limited to the boudoir and erotic. I love to photograph the world around me and particularly, the way people interact with it. Sensuality is my area of expertise.
I grew up in South Florida after my parents defected from Czechoslovakia in the 70s and I’ve gained an international perspective about all sorts of things. Most intriguing were the differences between European and American views about sexuality. I found it so interesting in fact, that I went back to college several years ago to study sexual philosophy. However, I’ve currently placed my degree on hold to finish a book about eroticism and love.
Along with photography as a medium of expression and paying the bills, I’m also an artist using watercolor, pastel, oil, multi-media and digital techniques. Better pieces are for sale my website, www.vontauber.com.
Lastly, I’m a published writer. I have two novels in the works in addition to other writing commitments and I enjoy writing essays on various topics which center around feminine empowerment and positive sexuality. My work has appeared worldwide and includes The Beltane Papers, Root and Sprout, In the Fray, The Legal Satyricon, The Erotic Woman and Down & Dirty Vol. 2.
I currently act as a resident feminist theory expert on The Legal Satyricon and often partner with my husband, Michael S. Troop. His photographic work can be viewed here.
